Two views on the occupant
Archaeological view
An early-period group of one square-fronted mound and four square mounds — distinctive for its all-square composition. A 1980 dig yielded two mirrors, beads, and iron weapons. A link to Uda's cinnabar production has been suggested.
Imperial Household Agency view
Not designated by the IHA. National Historic Site (1983).
