Archaeological view
A round mound of ~30m on a hilltop; unexcavated, with haniwa fragments recovered.
Imperial Household Agency view
Managed by the IHA as the Tomisato reference site; the candidate is Prince Yamashiro-no-Oe, Prince Shotoku's son who perished in 643. Its 4th–5th-century haniwa rule this out archaeologically; Nishinomiya Kofun in Heguri is the favored true grave.
