Archaeological view
The IHA classifies the present mausoleum as a round mound. Its archaeological construction date, burial facility, and finds are not established in the public sources checked. Separately from the official designation, Kengoshizuka Kofun in Asuka is widely regarded as the stronger archaeological candidate for Empress Saimei's tomb.
Imperial Household Agency view
Managed by the IHA as the Ochi-no-Okanoe Mausoleum of Empress Saimei (with Princess Hashihito co-buried). Archaeologists favor Kengoshizuka Kofun (id:266) as her true tomb and Koshitsuka-Gomon (id:664) as Princess Ota's — a textbook case of designation versus scholarship. Worship from the oratory.
