Archaeological view
An approximately 96m Makimuku-type keyhole-shaped mound at Higaida, Sakurai, with a short front. Pottery from the moat dates to the mid-3rd century and constrains the construction date, though it does not establish an exact year. The central burial facility and grave goods remain unconfirmed.
Imperial Household Agency view
This is not an Imperial Household Agency mausoleum. It was added to the National Historic Site Makimuku Kofun Group (Makimuku Ishizuka and Hokenoyama, designated 2006) together with Makimuku Katsuyama by a notification of 17 February 2026.
