Managed by the IHA as the Awaji Tomb of Lady Yamashiro of Taima, mother of Emperor Junnin, whose own mausoleum (id:519) lies 1km north. Her wooded mound rises like an island amid the onion fields; the Shoku Nihongi records its elevation to "imperial tomb" in 778. Worship from the perimeter.
