Keyhole mound (~106m) in Tenri City. Part of the Isonokami-Toyota Kofun Group, in the dense cluster of kofun surrounding Isonokami Shrine. National Historic Site managed by Tenri City; a component of the eastern Tenri kofun circuit alongside Isonokami Otsuka Kofun and Isonokami Shrine."Akatsuchiyama" (Red Clay Hill) takes its name from the reddish clay of the mound soil. Combining this site with Isonokami Shrine, Tenri's Kurozuka Exhibition Hall, and the Tenri Sankokan Museum makes for a comprehensive day of ancient Yamato history. About 20 min by bicycle from JR/Kintetsu Tenri Station.
