95m diameter round mound in Yamato-Takada City. The 2nd largest circular mound in Nara. One of the Mami Kofun Group (south cluster), forming a 5th-century elite burial zone together with the adjacent Tsukiyama Kofun. Of high academic value as a major circular mound in Nara.
Surveys by Yamato-Takada City Board of Education. Finds from the mound surface and terraces: cylindrical haniwa, shield-shaped haniwa, house-shaped haniwa, and canopy-shaped haniwa. Notably, two miniature ceramic vessels were found placed inside the cylindrical haniwa rows — a placement practice also confirmed at Shibuyamukaiyama (Tenri) and Otomeyama (Koryo), making these significant as evidence of a shared 5th-century ritual tradition.
Managed by Yamato-Takada City Board of Education; the mound perimeter is open to visitors. The Mami Kofun Group is developed as Mami Hillside Park, and Konpirayama can be enjoyed as part of a park walk (bus or about 20–30 min walk from Kintetsu Osaka Line "Yamatotakada" station or Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line "Takata-shi" station).
