Finds & research
Multiple surveys by Hiraka Town and the Kashihara Archaeological Research Institute. The eastern half has been historically restored with stone paving and replica haniwa, and the mound features Japan's only confirmed "passage-like structure" — presumed to be a ritual access path to the rear-circle summit. Finds include cylindrical, morning-glory-shaped, and figural haniwa.
