107.5m keyhole mound in Hirakata City. Representative early kofun in north Kawachi. The place name "Makino" denotes an imperial pasture, reflecting this area's deep ancient ties to royal authority. Together with Kinno Kurumazuka (120m, early 4th c.) and Oshioka (94m), it forms the "North Kawachi Early Kofun Group," representing a chieftain lineage that controlled the Yodo River trade route.
Hirakata City surveys partially confirmed a vertical-shaft stone chamber. Reported finds include a bronze water vessel, iron objects, and haniwa.
About 20–25 min walk from JR Kyoto Line "Hirakata-koen" station or Keihan Main Line "Hirakata-shi" station. Protected as a historic site managed by Hirakata City Board of Education.
