Large oval round mound, 61m.The unusual name "Guwashobo" is said to derive from a Buddhist monk who once lived here. The oval shape (61m×56m) makes it one of the largest round mounds in the Mozu group, now preserved like an island within a residential neighbourhood.
Sakai City Board of Education excavations confirmed the unusual oval plan with the western side protruding. Investigation of the fill revealed a distinctive "upside-down soil lump" stacking technique. The moat fill is reportedly well preserved. Finds include cylindrical haniwa, figural haniwa, Sue ware, and a miniature iron hoe — a symbolic grave good linked to agricultural ritual.
