A keyhole mound on a low terrace overlooking the Amanogawa River in Miyanosaka, Hirakata. Its two-tiered mound is aligned roughly east-west and measures 120m long, with a 63m rear circle and a 55m-wide front section. The rear portion is slightly elongated and oval. It is thought to have been built about 1,700 years ago in the Early Kofun period and became a National Historic Site in 1972.
Details of the burial facility and grave goods are unknown. Hirakata City's current account does not list a pit-style stone chamber, iron objects, or bronze mirrors as confirmed finds.
Hirakata City states that entry to the summit of the rear circle is prohibited. Follow on-site guidance when visiting.
