A round mound in Kasai’s Tamaoka Historic Park. Its weapons and figural haniwa form part of the same Middle Kofun period group as Tamaoka Kofun.

Archaeological view
Kasai City places this round, two-tiered mound about 170m west of Tamaoka and gives its diameter as about 35m. It has a square projection, haniwa rows on the summit and terrace, and tuff stone paving on its slopes and foot. Many stones were removed from the pit-style chamber, thought to have held a split-bamboo-shaped wooden coffin. Reported finds include a leather-laced triangular-plate cuirass, swords, spear, and axe; the projection yielded rooster haniwa, pottery, and several clay objects.
