Overview
A square mound 30m on a side and 3.5m high, close to the moat east of Futatsuzuka Kofun and built on the outer embankment of Konda Gobyoyama Kofun, the Emperor Ojin mausoleum. From its position, it is thought to be closely related to the Ojin mausoleum. The mound itself appears not to have had a moat. It is dated to the middle phase of the Middle Kofun period. The Imperial Household Agency administers it as a satellite of the Ojin mausoleum, and it is a constituent monument of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2019.
Finds & research
Cylindrical haniwa were recovered from the foot of the mound, which appears to have had no moat of its own. As the IHA administers it as a satellite tomb, the burial facility and grave goods are uninvestigated.
Two views on the occupant
Archaeological view
A square mound 30m long and 3.5m high, occupant unknown, dated to the middle of the Middle Kofun period (first half of the 5th century). It lies beside the moat on the east of Futatsuzuka Kofun, on the outer embankment of Konda Gobyoyama Kofun (the Emperor Ojin mausoleum, 425m). The mound appears to have had no moat of its own, and cylindrical haniwa were recovered from its foot. Small for a square mound, it may hold a relatively lower-ranking figure among the accessory burials.

Managed by the Imperial Household Agency as an imperial burial site (satellite tomb); public entry onto the mound is not permitted. A constituent monument of the Mozu-Furuichi World Heritage property.
