Overview
A round mound about 150m west of the south-west corner of Hakayama Kofun's outer embankment. It is about 62m across in the Agency for Cultural Affairs figures (65m in another Fujiidera City account); a projection on the south-west side brings its total length to 72m, and it stands 10m high. The largest round mound in the Furuichi area, its circular portion has two tiers and is surrounded by a circular moat. It is dated to the middle phase of the Middle Kofun period. Part of the National Historic Site Furuichi Kofun Group, it is a constituent monument of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2019.
Finds & research
A circular moat rings the mound. Cylindrical haniwa and numerous figural haniwa have been recovered. Details of the burial facility remain unconfirmed.

A round mound, occupant unknown: about 62m across in the Agency for Cultural Affairs and Fujiidera City World Heritage accounts (65m in the city’s historic-site account), with a projection on the south-west giving a total length of 72m, 10m high, the round part built in two tiers. It is the largest round mound in the Furuichi area (Agency for Cultural Affairs), dated to the middle phase of the Middle Kofun period (mid-5th century according to Fujiidera City), and stands about 150m west of the south-west corner of Hakayama Kofun's outer embankment, in Aoyama, Fujiidera. A circular moat rings it, and cylindrical haniwa along with numerous figural haniwa have been recovered.
