A presumed satellite mound in scallop shape (61m long). Mid-5th century. Located in the southern part of the Mozu group, close to the southern outer moat of Daisen Kofun. Its form and location suggest a satellite relationship. A good example of the classic scallop-mound profile with a truncated front projection. Protected as a Sakai City designated historic site.Constituent monument of the "Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group" UNESCO WHS (2019). The name "Osameduka" (Storing Mound) reflects the ancient recognition of this place as a sacred burial site. The Mozu group was built in a concentrated burst of mound construction in the 5th century, and the whole ensemble—great mausolea surrounded by satellite and accessory mounds—constituted the "Mozunomimihara" sacred landscape. The sight of ancient burial mounds scattered through the modern cityscape of Sakai creates a distinctive urban environment where past and present coexist.

A scallop-shaped satellite mound (61m long), presumed satellite of Daisen Kofun. Mid-5th century. Located near the southern outer moat of Daisen, its geographic proximity suggests a satellite relationship. The scallop form is a modified keyhole shape that flourished in the Mozu and Furuichi groups during the 5th century. At 61m, it is a mid-sized example of the scallop form, suggesting a middle-ranking occupant. The name "Osameduka" (収塚, Storing Mound) literally means a mound for storing (the deceased and grave goods)—a strikingly direct description of a burial mound's function.
