A 22m round mound in Fujiidera City, one of the Furuichi group components, dated to the late Kofun period (6th–7th century). Small compared to the great mausolea of the Furuichi group, but representing a local elite. The name "Banshoyama" may derive from a checkpoint or guardpost once located nearby. Surrounded by the great royal mounds including the Ojin and Chuai mausolea, its occupant may have been connected with their management or rituals.
Excavation records are limited. Surface-collected haniwa and pottery fragments have been reported, but burial chamber details are unconfirmed.
Preserved as a green space amid surrounding residential development. Located near the Furuichi World Heritage buffer zone and easily included in a circuit of nearby kofun. About 12 min walk from Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line "Hajino-Sato" station.
