Terminal-period square mound in Habikino City.Built near the end of the Kofun period (early 7th century). As Buddhism spread and cremation became common in the 7th century, monumental tomb construction faded. This mound stands near that historical turning point.
The 54m square mound with moat and outer embankment contains a double-aisle horizontal stone chamber (main chamber ~4m × 2m) with a house-shaped tuff stone coffin — an important indicator of 7th-century coffin culture.
