A square mound about 45m on a side in Hamadera Motomachi, Nishi Ward, Sakai, built in the mid-5th century. It once formed the Yotsuzuka group with Kyozuka, Akayama, and Takatsuki Kofun. Its horizontal chamber has a 2.4 by 2.2m main room and a 0.5 by 0.9m passage. It is an Osaka Prefectural Historic Site.
Finds & research
The horizontal chamber yielded horse fittings, a cuirass, swords, iron arrowheads, magatama, and other beads; the wooden coffins contained a square-frame mirror with eight bosses and a Weizhi Sangong mirror. A 1994 investigation recovered cylindrical and shield-shaped haniwa from the moat.

Archaeological view
A three-tiered square mound about 45m on a side and 4m high. A 1958 excavation identified a horizontal stone chamber and two directly buried wooden coffins. The chamber uses steeply corbelled split stone in a technique resembling pit-style chambers and represents an early form of the horizontal chamber in the Kinai region.
Imperial Household Agency view
This is not an Imperial Household Agency mausoleum. It is privately owned and was designated an Osaka Prefectural Historic Site on 26 July 1993.
