Archaeological view
One of Japan's largest kofun clusters. Gose City's latest conservation plan counts 754 extant or probable mounds (351 inside the designated site and 403 outside), excluding 42 natural features and four separately treated mounds. Construction began in the early 5th century, peaked in the mid-6th, and continued into the mid-7th.
