A rare freely walkable great mound amid the imperial tombs of the Saki group in Nara. From its summit one can imagine the closed mausolea all around.

Archaeological view
A 96m keyhole mound with paving, haniwa, and a dry moat ~12m wide, built c. 400. A 1913 dig found a small clay-encased burial in the front section with three koto-bridge-shaped stone objects; the main burial is untouched.

Not designated by the IHA. National Historic Site (1971) — one of the few large Saki mounds outside imperial designation.
