The paramount mound of the early-period cluster in Hiokayama Park, Kakogawa. Together with Hiokaryo (id:603) and Nishi-Otsuka, the park surveys the chieftain lineage of the lower Kako River.

Archaeological view
The largest mound of the Hiokayama group: ~90m surviving length (or 86.4m mound / ~106m total), rear circle ~54m, built in the late 4th century. Two pit-style chambers (rear summit and front section) yielded a triangular-rimmed mirror, pottery and haniwa. Nishi-Otsuka Kofun (~74m keyhole) adjoins to the north.
