Overview
Square mound (~50m per side) in Shimaizumi, Habikino City, Osaka. Together with the adjacent Shimaizumi Maruyama Kofun (one of the largest round mounds in the Furuichi area, ~75m diameter), it is IHA-designated as the mausoleum of Emperor Yuryaku (Tajihi-no-Takawashinohara-no-Misasagi). In the Meiji era the two mounds were joined by earth fill into an apparent keyhole shape — a nationally rare history. Surrounded by residential development; exterior mound outline visible from surrounding roads.
Finds & research
No excavation permitted under IHA mausoleum regulations. Internal structure and grave goods remain unknown.

Archaeological view
Square mound ~50m per side, late 5th–early 6th century. Located ~100m ESE of Shimaizumi Maruyama Kofun (round mound, ~75m diameter, ~8m high); the IHA designates the two mounds jointly as Emperor Yuryaku's mausoleum. In 1885 earth fill joined the two into an apparent keyhole shape. Unexcavated under IHA jurisdiction; the occupant is archaeologically unconfirmed.

Together with the adjacent Shimaizumi Maruyama Kofun (round mound, ~75m diameter), designated and managed by the IHA as Tajihi-no-Takawashinohara-no-Misasagi, the mausoleum of Emperor Yuryaku (21st Emperor). In 1885 the gap between the two mounds was filled with earth, reshaping the whole into an apparent keyhole outline. Field notes
About 10 min walk from Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line "Takawashi" Station. A worship area serves the combined mausoleum with Shimaizumi Maruyama Kofun. Can be combined with Takayatsukiyama (Emperor Ankan, id:50) and Shiragayama (Emperor Seinei, id:51) for a late-Furuichi-group mausoleum tour.
