Group of 7 late-period mounds on the ridge in Iwade City — a Wakayama Prefectural Historic Site. 6th century. All mounds contain Iwahashi-type stone chambers (stone shelf and beam), linking them to the Iwahashi Senzuka group. Located at a key river transportation node; the best-preserved mound (No.2) retains a complete two-tier stone shelf chamber.

Archaeological view
Group of 7 (4 surviving) late-period mounds on the ridge in Funato, Iwade City. The largest, Mound No.2, measures ~14m (E-W) × ~16m (N-S). 6th century. All contain Iwahashi-type horizontal stone chambers (with stone shelf and beam), sharing the stone chamber style of the Iwahashi Senzuka group. Located at a key transportation node on the south bank of the Kinokawa River, they form the tomb precinct of chieftain-class figures guarding the western edge of the Iwahashi Senzuka group. Mound No.2 preserves a complete two-tier stone shelf chamber — an important specimen for the morphological study of Iwahashi-type chambers.

Taxi from Nankai Main Line Kii or Uchinoura Station. Located ~8km west of the Iwahashi Senzuka Kofun Group (Wakayama City), demonstrating the spread of the Iwahashi stone chamber style to Iwade City.
