A square mound (68m long) located opposite Hakayama Kofun and presumed to be its accessory burial. 5th century. The name "Mukaihakayama" (Opposite Hakayama) reflects this spatial relationship. Not IHA-managed; administered by Habikino City as a World Heritage constituent monument. Among the larger square mounds in the group, suggesting an occupant closely connected to the main Hakayama burial.Constituent monument of the "Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group" UNESCO WHS (2019). The square mounds of the Furuichi group are positioned near large keyhole mausolea as accessory burials of subordinate-rank figures. Mukaihakayama and Nishiumaduka are both near Hakayama Kofun (an IHA-designated satellite at 225m), illustrating how the main mound and its accessories formed an integrated funerary zone. Multiple such "funerary zone units" (keyhole mausoleum + surrounding square mounds) have been identified in the Furuichi group, providing excellent comparative data.
No excavation permitted under IHA mausoleum regulations. Internal structure and grave goods remain unknown. Exterior viewable from public paths.
