One of the earliest keyhole mounds in the Iwase Senzuka group (Hanayama sub-group). Together with Hanayama No.8, it dates to the late 4th to early 5th century. Estimated mound length ~40m. The Hanayama sub-group is the earliest zone of chieftain burials in the entire complex.
