The largest keyhole mound in Wakayama Prefecture (88m), located in Wakayama City. The principal mound of the Iwahashi Senzuka Kofun Group (Special Historic Site) — the center of a cluster of over 800 mounds. The stone chamber in the rear section is 5.9m high, second tallest in Japan. Mid-6th century. Located within Kiifudoki-no-Oka (Wakayama Prefectural Museum), where visitors can learn about the entire kofun cluster.
Finds & research
Magatama beads, iron items, and Sue ware pottery excavated. The horizontal stone chamber can be observed inside under certain conditions.

Archaeological view
The largest keyhole mound in Wakayama Prefecture (88m) and the principal mound of the Iwahashi Senzuka Kofun Group (~800 mounds). Located at the summit of Tennotsuka-yama (~155m elevation). The rear circular section contains a double-winged horizontal stone chamber with a height of 5.9m — the second tallest in Japan. Built mid-6th century when central Yamato authority was waning, it reflects the continued power of the Kii clan (Ki-uji).

Field notes
Located within Kiifudoki-no-Oka (Wakayama Prefecture). About 10 min by car from JR Wakayama Line "Tainose" Station. Bus service also available from central Wakayama City. Recommended to visit with other Iwahashi Senzuka mounds (Dainichizan No.35, etc.).
