Overview
A major mound in the eastern Saki group. Ten surviving round and square satellite mounds lie around its outer embankment, where an excavation on the south side identified a haniwa row.

Archaeological view
A 204m, three-tiered keyhole mound at Hokkeji, Nara, with projections at both waists, double moats, and an outer embankment. Nara City dates it to the early 5th century.

The Imperial Household Agency manages it as the Konabe Mausoleum Reference Site. This status does not archaeologically establish its occupant.
