A keyhole mound in the grounds of Yamatsuteru Shrine, tutelary shrine of the Okinaga clan, in Maibara. Its gilt crown attests the clan that married into the imperial line. Walk it with the Okinaga Mausoleum (id:623).
A 46.2m keyhole mound — the last built in Sakata district — of the mid-6th century. Shrine-path works in 1882 revealed a corridor chamber and house-shaped sarcophagus with a gilt-bronze crown, swords, crystal beads, and horse gear. Widely seen as a chieftain of the Okinaga clan, Emperor Keitai's maternal kin.
