A satellite of Konda Gobyoyama Kofun (425m), located adjacent to Konda Hachimangu shrine. A round mound, ~50m diameter. Traditionally associated with the excavation of National Treasure-class gilt-bronze horse gear, and related cultural artifacts are held in the shrine's treasure hall. 5th century; managed by the IHA as a satellite mound. The trio of Konda Gobyoyama, Konda Hachimangu shrine, and Kondamaruyama Kofun creates one of the most historically layered landscapes in the Furuichi group.Constituent monument of the "Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group" UNESCO WHS (2019). The gilt-bronze openwork saddle fittings traditionally attributed to this mound are designated National Treasures and rank among the oldest horse gear in Japan. Konda Hachimangu shrine, dedicated to Emperors Chuai and Ojin and Empress Jingu, is one of the founding shrines of Hachiman worship in Japan. The concentrated layering of ancient mound, early shrine, and National Treasures makes this area one of the most historically rich spots in the entire Furuichi group. No excavation permitted under IHA mausoleum regulations. Internal structure and grave goods remain unknown. Exterior viewable from public paths.
