Archaeological view
78m scallop-shell (hotategai-gata) mound — the largest in Mie Prefecture (rear circle 64m dia., 9m high). Early 5th century. The principal mound of the 7-mound Shiratoriduka Kofun Group. Located within the precincts of Kasado Shrine, associated with the Yamato Takeru legend. A dry moat survives around the mound in good condition. Situated on a terrace along the eastern bank of the Suzuka River; presumed tomb of a powerful Suzuka-area chieftain.

About 15 min walk from Kintetsu Suzuka Line "Kasado" Station. Can be combined with a visit to Kasado Shrine. Along with Nobono Otsuka Kofun (id:337), known as a site associated with the Yamato Takeru legend.
