Archaeological view
~100m scallop-shell mound (rear circle ~73m dia., 9m high; front section ~40m wide, ~30m long, ~3m high). The second largest mound in the Mihata Kofun Group. Early 5th century; positioned as the successor chieftain burial after Umazuka Kofun (142m). The Mihata Kofun Group is the largest in the Iga region; its successive chieftain burials spanning 4th–6th centuries are academically significant.
